Are you a person who is open to learning new things? Is your heart postured to listen and engage in new discoveries of Truth?
When we choose to be a devoted follower of Jesus, we’re called to action far greater than just believing Jesus died for our sins. This is the vast difference between someone who believes and someone who is a disciple. While many are content to trust Jesus to die in their place, fewer are willing to trust His Spirit to live in their place, because allowing the Holy Spirit to permeate and lead us in all areas of life requires continuous surrender and submission. This is what the Apostle Paul meant when He said, “I die daily…” (1 Corinthians 15:31). Paul was led by the Holy Spirit, with the earnest desire for the Spirit to teach him how to live every day. In the same way today, disciples of Jesus are to lay down our desires, and follow the Holy Spirit. Not always an easy choice to make, but one that is fulfilling in so many ways.
May we be women, as devoted disciples, who bear the hearts that cry out to God, “Teach me!” God’s grace and love are so infinite that He will answer our hearts desire when we surrender and align our will with His. The Word of God and the Spirit of God will teach us all we need to know and understand.
Let’s pray these Scripture verses in faith today, believing that the Holy Spirit will indeed teach us His ways.
“Give me revelation about the meaning of your ways so I can enjoy the reward of following them fully. Give me an understanding heart so that I can passionately know and obey your truth. Guide me into paths that please you, for I take delight in all you say. Cause my heart to bow before your wisdom and not to the wealth of this world. Help me turn my eyes away from illusions so that I pursue only that which is true; drench my soul with life as I walk in your paths.” – Psalm 119:33-37 (TPT)
