“Since we have a Kingdom nothing can destroy, let us please God by serving Him with thankful hearts and with holy fear and awe. For our God is a consuming fire.” – Hebrews 12:28-29 (TLB)

There is so much in this world that may seem pressing and important in our circumstances of today but actually have no lasting value or benefit in the grand scheme of things. When we think of how fleeting this life is, and how fast the years fly by, there really is a lot that consumes our time and energy that doesn’t actually matter in the end. But the eternal plans of God can never be undone; His Kingdom will not be dismantled.

So why do we get so wrapped up with stuff that doesn’t last? Why does our focus seem so misguided at times with things that have no eternal merit?

We need our hearts focused on what matters… what lasts. Hearts fully surrendered. Our mind, will, and emotions surrendered to the Holy Spirit and the plans of our Father. Fulfilling what He has purposed for us specifically to do. Executing that which holds eternal worth and taking ground in the spiritual realm against the enemy of darkness. We have the opportunity as followers of Jesus to make a far greater impact in this world than I think any of us realize. We’re on the Kingdom side – the side that cannot be destroyed.

Let’s stand together, with reverence and Holy fear of our loving God and let’s set our hearts on serving Him in any way that He instructs us and guides us to accomplish. May we be women who meditate each day on God’s revealed character. May we be continuously asking with expectancy for the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Truth of Scripture and how we can apply it personally to our day-to-day lives. May we humble ourselves in prayer, worship faithfully and determine to give Him all the glory that He deserves. So that in all this, with holy fear and awe, we can be about not just the things that are temporary, but also those that will have an effect far into eternity.
