Even in the Crazy

Sometimes life just seems crazy. Can you relate to seasons like that? I’m sure we can all relate to days that we crawl into bed at night and think, did all that actually happen today?
At times, the craziness of life can leave us with more questions about what God is up to, rather than the peace of knowing He is with us. We can feel like we end up with more questions than answers. And since we live in an instant gratification world that so often seems to demand that we have all the answers…. well, we can easily get sucked into the cycle of wanting immediate answers the moment we have questions. And it is so easy, when we don’t get what we want when we want it, to sift through our own theories and make judgements far too quickly.
To me, it seems as though God’s more concerned with the health of our souls than making sure that we have all the answers. I get that that perhaps doesn’t sit well with some. But the way of the Christian life, is to live by believing and not by seeing. (ref. 2 Corinthians 5:7).
We can’t lose sight of the fact that we are in a spiritual battle. We have a real live enemy, who is out to steal, kill and destroy anything that draws love, glory and power to Jesus. Satan wants us to be lulled by the deceitfulness of sin. He wants us to be swept up in the manipulation of the chaos and pain he brings to this world. It’s for these very reasons, we need to know where we stand amidst the craziness of life. Because there are going to be unknowns. There are going to be things that don’t make sense. And there are going to be things that we walk through that just seem plain crazy. Which begs the question: Will we continue to follow Jesus in the midst of it all – even in the crazy?
Following Jesus is hard. While his burden is light…. the journey of following Him costs us our whole life. It costs our whole heart. To get through the pain, the heartache, the craziness of life, it will take our whole heart, our whole mind, leaning on Him alone to get us through. He leads us to joy… peace… victory… and He ultimate leads us home!
Will we trust Him?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
